WHALE is a production company based in Amsterdam for which we developed a visual identity system that invites "anyone open to doing things a little different" into an exciting and optimistic world. We strategically developed an ownable, friendly and playful brand that distinguishes WHALE within the creative industry and positions it as a next-generation company of entertainment and advertising that everyone would love to work with or in. In contrast to the many Swiss-inspired brand identities - especially in the European creative circle - we decided to go back to the power of a logo and develop an eye-catching one that conveys freshness and dynamism. Both the logotype and the icon serve as a device/container for film, photography and content produced by the company. As WHALE is an acronym of kids' names, we applied a vibrant and balanced color palette of warm and cold hues that transmit the imagination, energy, experimentation, and craft spirit that identify childhood as well as the company's.
