OVERVIEW
Google Nest's mission is to create a home that takes care of the people in it & the world around it.

Matter is a new industry-unifying standard that allows all smart home devices to work together seamlessly and securely. The Google Home Matter UX team focuses on the consumer experience for Matter devices including setup, control, and management.

THE ROLE
The team is looking for a strong UX/visual mobile designer to design new features, iterate on existing work, and be capable of providing detailed design specifications for implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to propose and iterate on feasible design solutions.
Apply and contribute to our design frameworks and systems.
Consult, educate, and collaborate with UX (research, content strategy), marketing, engineering and product teams who rely on our designs.
Develop UX frameworks, user journeys, user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and pixel-perfect visual designs and specs.
Communicate recommendations, rationalize design decisions and advocate for users’ needs.

REQUIRED
Strong and demonstrable visual design skills (color, layout, type, etc.) and fluency on best design practices for mobile (Android and iOS).
Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations for mobile platforms
Translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible and beautiful design deliverables.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
Portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions.
Proficiency with Figma.
Execute against several work streams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, and deliver clear, organized and detail-oriented solutions.
Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
